This month's makeup bag is a sparkly artistic dancing body figures that spell out IPSY. I think it is pretty cool!

What I received in this month's bag:

Too Faced - Lip Injection Extreme - 1.5 g
I was a bit nervous to try this out to be honest because I have heard that this lip plumper hurts badly! But it actually doesn't hurt at all! I didn't feel any tingling or pain. My lips were plumped just by a tiny bit and it wasn't very noticeable. Maybe I already had a little lip balm on when I tried this out. I don't like the smell which is a cherry flavoured medicine scent.

Trust Fund Beauty - Nail Polish in Champagne Socialite - 17 ml
Yay for nail polish! I finally got a Trust Fund Beauty polish from Ipsy. I know this brand does non-toxic nail polishes and I have been waiting every month to get this! This is a rose gold color and I can't wait to try this out!

Seraphine Botanicals - Guava Butter - 4 g
This is a lip and cheek stain and I love the color I got! It is a peach tone neutral color which is my favourite blush color. Plus points for a more natural ingredients list too. It goes on very smooth and it blends out nicely! Like!

ToGoSpa - Eye Masks - 3 pairs
These are the green tea eye masks which claims to be "the energy drink for your face, AKA dark circle warrior". It can soothe brighten, de-puff, and moisturize. Sounds pretty good! I love any masks and I will sure use these.

Eau Thermale Avene - Hydrating Serum - 5 ml
This is a serum for very dehydrated sensitive skin and I think everyone can benefit from it. It is from France and I know this brand has been around for a long time with their thermal spring water as their staple ingredient!

Bronze Leopard Nails

0

Here's another animal print mani! I love doing animal prints since they can be messily drawn and still have a very impressive look!

The base color was Julep Soleil which was a bronze gold metallic polish. I painted the 4th finger differently with only the tip just to have a little variety.

Then I used a white polish and painted some spots on directly with the polish brush.

I then outlined the white spots with a black nail striper to complete the leopard print. After applying top coat and we are done!

Polishes Used:
Bronze - Julep Soleil
White - Revlon
Black - Color Club

This month's box has a theme of summer sun-kissed look and there is a booklet of product description instead of a brochure card.

What's in this box:

Too Faced - Mascara Melt Off Cleansing Oil - 1.15 g
I have never heard of anything like this before! This product comes in a mascara tube and applicator and it is supposed to dissolve your waterproof mascara. I wonder how well does this work. I can't wait to try it out since I love using waterproof mascara!

Trifle Cosmetics - Lip Parfait Buttery Lip Cream in Guilty Pug - 3.5 g
This lip stick comes in a cute paper tube packaging with a pug looking guilty on the tube! I got a peachy color which is what I prefer over pink. It goes on very smooth and it is a creamy lipstick.

Wella Professionals - Oil Reflections Smoothing Oil - 30 ml
I use hair oil regularly on my long hair and this one contains lots of nice ingredients such as macadamia seed oil, avocado oil, and vitamin E. It comes with a pump and it has a light oil texture which spreads quickly into the hair. It has a pleasant sweet fragrance as well. I will put this to good use for sure!

Invisibobble - Traceless Hair Ring - 3 pieces
I own and use this type of hair ties already and I am glad to get more in colorful pink. I usually get mine from Daiso (a Japanese dollar store) for way cheaper. I think the $8 USD for 3 pieces is quite overpriced. Anyhow, I will still use these!

De Bruyere - After Sun Lotion - 50 ml
This lotion contains Monoi, which are Tiare flower petals that have been soaked in coconut oil (learning something new all the time!) This is an after sun lotion that can calm and nourish the weakened skin. It has a very strong floral scent.

Borghese - Body Refining Polish - 14 g
This is a body scrub and it smells like spa with a hint of citrus. The scrub beads are similar to sugar and maybe that is what they use as one of the ingredients.

Demeter Fragrance Mixing Kit

0

Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review. Thank you Demeter Fragrance Library and Canadian Beauty Bloggers for the opportunity to create a personal perfume!

I received a cool fragrance mixing kit by Demeter with 3 scents that I picked before hand. The Foolproof Blending Trio kit allows you to blend, bottle, and design the label of your own custom fragrance! I have learnt from Demeter Fragrance Library's website that each of their fragrance has a single note and is simple so you can blend them with others to create your own unique scent with your favorite top, middle, and bottom notes.

My picks for the Trio include Gin & Tonic, Salt Air, and Jasmine. I have always love jasmine scent so I had to get it. For the other 2, they sound very unique and I never have a fragrance smelling like those therefore I picked them! Each of them is 30 ml in volume. They are actually quite lovely on their own and I would totally wear them separately but I couldn't wait what I would get from blending them together!

Also included in the kit are blending tools including an empty refillable 30 ml bottle for the custom blended fragrance along with droppers, funnel, and lots of tester paper strips.

How cute are these stickers? The kit also included some decorating stickers and a marker for you to design your very own personal bottle of perfume! What a nice touch!

Let's start blending!

First I prepared the bottles by taking off all the spray caps and took out 3 droppers. I started by adding equal amount of all 3 fragrances into the empty bottle. The scent at this point smells very strong of the Jasmine, so I decided to add more of the Gin & Tonic and Salt Air.

I tracked the number of pumps by marking it down on paper! The final scent I came down to consists of 24% Jasmine, 33% Salt Air, and 43% Gin & Tonic. Jasmine is still the first scent that you can identified when you smell the blended perfume since jasmine is the strongest on its own. The final scent is floral scent plus a fresh base note which is quite nice.

After mixing I decorated the bottle with the provided cute stickers and I have decided to name my fragrance Boat Party! This name was inspired by the scents Gin & Tonic and Salt Air - party drinking on the ocean! I thought it was quite appropriate, right?

I enjoyed this fun perfume blending experience and once again thank you Demeter Fragrance Library and Canadian Beauty Bloggers for this opportunity!

Nail Tattoo and Sailor Stripes

0

Cute summer sailor style manicure! I got a small sheet of metallic nail tattoos from one of my Julep boxes and wanted to try them out. Here we go!

The base colors were dark blue, white, and glitter red polishes.

On the white nail, I put on some tape horizontally and painted the dark blue polish on to make the stripes. They didn't turn out perfectly as some blue polish sipped under the tape and didn't give me a sharp edge. So I had to use the white polish to clean it up a bit.

Then I cut out the silver chevron nail tattoo and pressed it onto the index finger nail with a bit of water for a few seconds. The tattoo almost came out immediately and I could remove the back paper. The silver nail decal stayed on nicely and I just used a clear top coat to seal everything to finish it off!

Products Used:
Nail Tattoo - Julep
Dark Blue, Glittery Red - Butter London
White - OPI

Ipsy August 2016 Unboxing and First Impression

0

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that comes with a new makeup bag and 5 beauty sample products for the price of $10 USD/month.

This month's makeup bag was illustrated by Ipsy's found Michelle Phan and I received the purple hair girl dreaming of makeup. It is quite different than the usual Ipsy bag and I think it is pretty nice!

What I received in this month's bag:

NYX - Liquid Illuminator in Gleam - 13 ml
I am excited for this liquid highlighter from NYX since dewy/glowy face is all the rage right now. This color is a rose gold tone highlighter and it seems very pigmented. I can't wait to try this on my face!

Sally's Box - Secret Garden Sheet Masks x 2
How cute is the packaging for these masks? I am happy I got 2 of these! I have the camellia oil which is moisturizing and lifting, and the olive oil one which is moisturizing, soothing, and lifting. These are a 2-step system which contains a serum you put on before using the sheet mask. Very interesting!

Rodial - Smokey Eye Pen in Black - 1.2 g
I know this brand is a more high end brand and I am excited to see this for the first time in an Ipsy bag. This gel eyeliner is very creamy and it slides on with intense pigment so easily! I am impressed! Now we need to test out the staying power which is so important for a good eyeliner.

Organic Surge - Perfecting Face Polish - 30 ml
Organic skincare? Yes please! This face scrub contains rosemary and lemon oils which purify the complexion, chamomile and ginkgo biloba which sooth and soften, and almond oil which adds extra hydration.

Lord&Berry - Lip Pencil in Intimacy - 1.8 g
This lip pencil is in a very wearable pink which I think can be so flattening on most skin tones. I was surprised when swatching it because it was super creamy and smooth. I am impressed and can't wait to wear this!

Double Stamping with Green

0

Here's a simple stamping manicure where I tried out 2-tone double stamping!

For the base, I used a metallic deep green and a cream white on the 3rd and 4th finger nails.

On the white nails, I stamped on the tree pattern using a light green polish. Then I used a darker green polish and stamped on the same pattern but with a little offset. I like how it turned out and I will test out more double stamping for sure!

Products Used:
White - OPI
Light Green - Mineral Fusion
Dark Green and Metallic Green - Julep

Glossybox July 2016 Unboxing & First Impression

0

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription with 5 luxury products which costs $21 USD per month. There is also a little discount if you subscribe to a longer period of time.

Click HERE to join Glossybox!

I didn't see the normal card with products' description in this box and I know I am not getting all the same products as with other subscribers. I think my box has different picks and therefore they didn't have the card made for these specific items.

What's in this box:

Glov - Makeup Remover Cloth
This is an interesting product! It says it can remove makeup with only water and it is reusable for up to 3 months. This concept is very similar to the Makeup Eraser which I haven't tried. Very cool and I can't wait to use this!

Fango Essenziali - Sheet Mask - 25 ml
First thing I saw when I opened the box was this huge bright purple sheet mask. I love masks and I will sure put this to good use. This one was made in Korea and it claims it "cleanses, purifies and helps minimize pores".

Eyeko - Fat Eye Stick - 4 g
This is an eyeshadow stick in sparkly taupe color. It goes on quite sheer and I had to swatch it back and forth a few times to get the color in the picture. It says "intense colour and glossy finish" which I do not agree with the intense colour part. However, I still think this is a very pretty eyeshadow and I like the convenience of the stick form.

Glow for a Cause - Solid Perfume in Dream - 11 g
I haven't had a solid perfume in a long while. On their website, the description of the scent is "A modern and urban feel to an exuberant bouquet of flowers with a warm woody base.  Soft and romantic with a chic edge." I also learned that this company gives back a little portion of the profit to charity. Not bad! I quite like the scent which is a warmer floral scent.

Sinful Colors - Nail Polish Top Coat - 15 ml
I received a Sinful Colors polish from last month's Glossybox and here's another one. Again, I am not too happy to see this brand since I know Sinful Colors polishes are only $2-3 and I expect more high end products from this subscription box.

Leighton Denny - Nail Polish Drying Spray - 75 ml
Believe it or not, this would be my first nail polish drying spray! I usually do not find these sprays useful because my top coats are usually quite fast drying. However, it is nice to have one to try out now. This product is flammable though so beware when using it near flames!
