What I got this month:

Pretty Vulgar - Make Them Blush in 111 Prim Vixen
I was most wowed by this product when I opened this box because of the gorgeous gold packaging. I have never tried anything from this brand and this blush is in a bright pink color! I don't usually go for blush color like this but hey, that's why we get subscription boxes right? It feels super smooth and luxurious to touch! I am excited to wear this on my cheeks!

PUR - Eyeshadow Palette
This is a pretty big palette with 12 eyeshadows. Most of them are very creamy and pigmented! This is my first time trying PUR eyeshadow and I quite like them. The color scheme here is more peach, pink and neutral, which is easy to wear.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company - Eye Brush Set
There are 3 brushes in this set and they are all nice and soft. I like that they are white so I can see if I have leftover colors on the brush before applying new color. Every makeup wearer can use more eye brushes right?

Butter London - Double Decker Mascara
This mascara claims to give you 200% thicker lashes with 314% increase in curl! Haha, 314% that precise hey? This is my first time trying Butter London mascara. I already love their nail polishes and I hope their make up is good too!

South Mane Beauty - Under Eye Gel Mask
There are 3 pairs of eye masks in the pack and I have already tried them under my eyes. They are soft gel patches that stay on very well. I like the feeling of the gel but it was hard to tell if they did anything after just 1 use. I love doing masks tho!

Elegant Burgundy with Jewels

0

Why don't we do a simply elegant jewels nails this time? You can re-create this with any colors you want! Let's start.

For the base, I used this gorgeous burgundy color by Butter London. It's call Pash. I left out a half moon shape with no polish on the index finger.

Then I took some Sally Hansen silver studs and some clear polish to line the index finger and placed a triangular shape on the middle finger. I also added one stud on the 4th finger.

A tip for making sure the studs stay well is to dab extra clear coat around the studs after placement. This might decrease the reflective properties of the studs so try to dab around them instead of piling on top.

Products Used:
Burgundy - Butter London - Pash
Silver Studs - Sally Hansen

This month's bag has a "creativity" theme with cute black and white print for coloring. There are two crayons in the bag (extra items) that you can color on the bag! Fun right?

What I got:

Tarte - Sex Kitten Eyeliner
Who doesn't need more black eyeliners? I love Tarte and I am excited to try this eyeliner. It claims to be smudge proof and that is a big factor for me. It swatches easily on my hand but I think it can be more black. I like the twist up and how pointy it is tho! Can't wait to try on my eyes.

Finding Ferdinand - Mini Lipstick in Rose Gold
I have never heard of this brand but I am surprised by the quality of it. It is a creamy lipstick and the shade I got is so flattening (rosy pink). It claims to have sunscreen in it so the lips are protected. It's very comfortable and non-drying. I love it!

Benefit - BAD Gal Bang Mascara in Pitch Black
This is a brand new mascara by Benefit and it claims to give you 36 hours of full-blast volume. It has a slim brush that claims to reach every lash. Let's see how this new mascara can give me volume!

AHAVA - Purifying Mud Mask
This mask is made with mud from the Dead Sea which claims to detox, unclog pores, and still boost hydration. Sounds pretty good right? Usually I find mud or clay mask a little drying. Hope this one is good!

BRTC - Jasmine Waterful Foaming Cleanser
I have used this Korean brand years ago but only tried their BB cream when BB cream was still new. This cleanser claims to remove makeup (even long wear lipsticks) and exfoliate when keeping the skin hydrated. That seems to be a lot of goodness claims for a cleanser. I know the Jasmine line focuses on hydration and I always love a good hydrating skincare product!

BoxyCharm Feb 2018 First Impressions

0

BoxyCharm is a monthly beauty subscription that focus mainly on makeup with 4-5 full size products. It costs $21 USD per month.

Click HERE to join BoxyCharm!

I have recently unsubscribed from Glossybox because they started to have repeat items and they focus more on the skincare side, which isn't a bad thing, but I have too much skincare backups already. I think makeup products would be more fun and I know BoxyCharm is a popular one that constantly have good feedback. I will see if I want to continue this subscription. If I do, there are 3, 6, or 12 months plans that could save me some money.

This month's theme is Galaxy Glow and products are mostly holographic or having a purple shift!

What I got:

Naked Cosmetics - Holographic Highlighter Palette
This holo packaged palette was the first thing that I saw when I opened this month's box. I think all brands are doing something holographic nowadays, which is great! I gasped when I opened the palette and saw the 6 different shades! OMG! They are so nice! They are not as soft and creamy as Becca highlighters but the color payoff is pretty good still. I am actually a bit chickened out on wearing these as highlighter since they are super colorful. They are beautiful regardless and I think it will be easier for me to wear them as eyeshadows.

Cover FX - Shimmer Veil in Amethyst
From the packaging I thought this was a holo lipgloss. It could be since it is a beautiful pink with purple shimmer. After reading the box I realized it is a liquid eyeshadow, similar to the famous Stila Liquid Metal shadows. It looks gorgeous! It dries down immediately after I blended it out and I have high hopes for this! So excited to give this a try on the eyes!

Crown Pro - Trio Brush Set
These brushes are so cute with the white and pink details. They are quite soft too. I will use the smallest one for eyeshadow, the medium one for... I am actually not sure. I don't really have a need for this size of brush. The large one for setting powder or contour/bronzer.

Bellapierre Cosmetics - Shimmer Powder in Lust
So by this point I think there is enough purple/pink products in this month's box. Haha. I have tried pigments from this brand before and they are pretty good! This is a nice lavender color and it can create a romantic look. The ingredients are simple enough too. Like!

Vintage Cosmetics - Smokey Eye Pencil in Jet Black
You can never have too many black eyeliners right? This ones swatches quite easily on my hand but it seems to smudge easily too but it doesn't claim to be long lasting. It emphasizes the creamy soft formula that can glide on the lids without tugging or pulling. I will still give this a try.

This month's bag is a nude pale pink suede-like textured bag with lace trim. It somehow reminds of sexy lingerie, which I think is what they are trying to do. It's pretty cute!

What I got:

Luxie Beauty - Blending and Shading Eye Brush
I have tried Luxie's brushes before and I really like them. This one is duo-ended and they are very soft. The blending side is more for a darker shadow placement brush for me instead of a blending brush. But I like it overall.

Marsk - Loose Eye Shadow in Foil Again - 1.2 g
This color is a metallic grey to silver depends on how the light is hitting it. It's quite metallic and it's gonna be loud wearing as a smoky eyes shadow! I don't really do a crazy smoky eye look too much nowadays but will definitely try to incorporate it somehow in my more natural eyelook.

Trestique - Eye Pencil in Swiss Chocolate - 0.24 g

I am just in need of a new dark brown eye pencil! This one swatches so creamy and glides so easily on my hand. Not sure about the staying powder though. Can't wait to try!

Sand & Sky - Brilliant Skin Pink Clay Mask - 0.45 oz

I love face masks and I always use clay masks to detox. Other than clay, this one contains
"aloe vera, mangosteen, and organic licorice that help tighten pores and brighten the complexion". Sounds pretty good!

Hey Honey - Face & Eye Makeup Remover - 12 mL
Oh I love it already when it says it's made with 100% natural ingredients. It's a gel that transforms into a cream when you rub it in. I will be definitely using this!

Dry Brush Chevron Tips

0

Wow! I can't believe how easy it is to creative this cool looking pink and purple dry brush tips. This will be a short one!

I used a cream color as the base and this one is Julep's Lillian.

Then I started brushing a burgundy polish on the tips. I dabbed off some of the polish onto a piece pf paper and just went in without thinking too much.

Then I did the same using a hot pink polish.

I kept adding little by little until I am happy with the result and we are done!

Polishes used:
White - Julep - Lillian
Pink - Zoya
Burgundy - Mineral Fusion

BoxyCharm Jan 2018 First Impressions

BoxyCharm is a monthly beauty subscription that focus mainly on makeup with 4-5 full size products. It costs $21 USD per month.

What I got this month:

Pur - Bronze and Brighten Cheek Palette
Holy PIGMENTS!! This palette is intense! The shades are extremely pigmented and they are more like eyeshadows than face products. I am actually afraid to use them on my cheeks, well, maybe not the highlighter. I like a good beaming highlighter. Anyway, they are super soft and creamy to the touch.

IT Cosmetics - Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
I already own and I am currently using this eyebrow pencil. I love IT Cosmetics as they use skincare ingredients in their makeup. This brow pencil claims to be anti-aging and contains biotin, saw palmetto (what is this?), and antioxidants. The shade is greyish brown which is good for me but I am not 100% sure if it is as universal as it claims. But so far I have heard good reviews from different hair colour people from the beauty community.

Girlactik - Matte Lip Paint in Posh
This is my first time trying Girlactik! The shade is an terra cotta nude which is very easy to wear. I like this shade on my skin tone. The formula is lightweight and it dries very quickly. I always wear a balm underneath any matte liquid lip and therefore I don't find it drying. So far so good!

Crown Pro - Glam Metals Palette
This palette has 8 brown/grey metallic shades and 1 matte black shade. All the metallic shades are good and pigmented. The black shade is not black enough, but it's still easy to blend. I think it still needs other shades to complete a look such as a lighter shade, neutral transition shade... But overall it's not bad. It is my first time trying shadows from this brand.

Dr. Brandt - Pores No More Luminizer Primer
I have used the original Pores No More Primer and really liked it. I think this is a new product that is luminizing. It has tiny golden shimmers in it but its not shimmery on the face under my foundation. It does provide a radiant glow to the skin. But I think the original Pore No More can blur pores a little better.

Overall I really like this month's box and I think the price is worth it. I will continue to next months and see if I will join for longer!

This month's bag is a blue honey comb texture fabric with neon yellow stripe down the middle. It reminds me of the neon coloured fitness suits that people wear back then. I guess it is for the new year resolution since the card came with it kind of talked about 2018 goals.

What I got this month:

The Balm Cosmetics - Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter - 1.05 g
I love this highlighter! This was one of my very first products that got my addicted to highlighters! It is so creamy and gorgeous without glitter. I use this all the time! Now that I have a fresh one to bring on the go! Love!

Seraphine Botanicals - Lip Stain - 2.5 g
This shade is called Rasin and Cream. It is supposed to be hydrating and long lasting. I love the feeling of the lip crayon, it is quite hydrating. I like the colour too! It is more terra cotta so the colour of the packaging is a bit misleading. Overall I really like this!

Lue by Jean Seo - Hydrating and Calming Serum - 15 mL
I like a good hydrating serum as I load that up on my face every day and night! This is quite light weight and contains only a few ingredients including sodium hyaluronate, which helps the skin to retain moisture!

Dermelect - Microfacial Exfoliating Masque - 15 mL
I love face masks and I do one everyday! This one is "made with kaolin clay to purify pores and absorb excess oils, coconut and avocado oils to nourish, and pure Vitamin C to get you glowing." I can't wait to try this out!

Slmissglam - L36 Tapered Highlight Brush
What a cute brush?! It has a pink glitter handle, jewel stones, and ombre purple and pink bristles!! I love the look of this. It has soft synthetic bristles and it can be used for lots of purposes. Besides highlighting, I like this shape for setting undereye concealer. Love the look!

This month's bag is a blue and shiny black one. I don't think it is anything special.

What I got:

Tarte - Amazonian Clay Blush in Feisty - 1.5 g
I love Tarte! I also love their Amazonian Clay blushes! I am so happy to see a Tarte blush in this month's Ipsy! This color is a gorgeous neutral to nude tone that would look great on most skin tones! Love!

MAC - Prep + Prime Natural Radiance - 6 mL
I am surprised to see MAC in Ipsy! I have never seen MAC in subscription boxes! Anyway, this claims to be a primer and highlighter, which I don't think so. There is no highlighting effect on this in my opinion. It also claims to control oil, hydrate, and smooth out the complexion. Sounds pretty good right? I can't wait to test this out!

Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank - Matte Bronzer - 6 g
This is a more warm toned bronzer. I have never heard of this brand nor Lisa Frank. This bronzer feels smooth and pigmented. It's not bad! I like the leopard packaging too!

Clark's Botanicals - Deep Moisture Mask - Unknown Amount
I love masks especially moisturizing ones! I like the fresh floral scent of this mask. It claims to contain algae extract, Japanese green tea, and jasmine to calm, soothe, soften, and reduce redness.

Codage Paris - Scrubbing Cream - 15 mL
This face scrub is made with super fine rice particles. Interesting! It is free of nasty stuff like paraben and phtalates. I will put this to good use for sure!
