Purple Bubble Holos

This set of bubble nails turned out better than I have expected and it was super easy to do! Let's start!

For the base, I used a cream light purple and a holographic purple polishes, both from Julep.

On the 2nd and 3rd finger nails, I randomly painted some polka dots with a cream white color. Then I used a cotton bud to lightly dab on the dot to soak up the center part of the polish. I did this right away without giving time for the polish dots to dry.

Then I repeated the steps with the holographic purple and a goldish silver polish. I had the bubbles randomly overlapping others. Cute effect right?

Polishes Used:
Light & Holo Purple, White - Julep
Silver - Wycon

What's in this box:

Skinn by Dimitri James - Eye Shadow & Blush Palette - 14 g
I was most excited about this product when I first opened the box since it looks very high end and it is a good size palette with eye shadows for a full eye look and a blush. The packaging reminds me of something from Lancome or other high end brands. However, the eye shadows are not pigmented or creamy enough as I would like them to be. They might be good for beginners but I like something more pigmented. The blush is not too pigmented too but that's more acceptable since you would like to apply bit by bit. Overall, I am not impressed by this palette.

Spa to You - Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush and Massager
This is an interesting cleansing brush with a combination of fibre bristles and silicone cushions. It is supposed to deep clean while gently massage the skin to improve microcirculation. I normally use the Clarisonic or the Foreo cleanser but will definitely be trying this brush for the extra massage function!

Vitry - Nail Repair Care - 4 ml

I am least excited for this item as it is VERY tiny and I can't believe it is one of the items in this box, I thought it was an extra product. It is less then 1/3 of the size of a normal nail polish. I can't even read the writing on the bottle because everything is just so small. I tried it on my bare nails and it is basically a base coat. It also smells very strong of nail polish. It is suggested to be used every 2 days while removing the previous layer. I don't think I will enjoy this. I might just use is as a base coat.

Rodial - XXL Lip Liner in Nude - 1.2 g
This lip liner color is truly a nude and barely shows up on my lips. It is good for over lining the lips to create a fuller look. The formula is very matte and it is supposed to be long lasting and waterproof. I am glad to have this shade to over-line my lips!

Tree Hut - Exfoliating Mud Mask - 82 g
I love doing mask and I make sure I do at least one everyday! Everyone can use a good mud mask to clean out the pores once in a while! This mask contains black sand and kaolin which are minerals that help promote clear skin. I will definitely be putting this to good use.

Rose Gold and Black with Jewels

How about a quick but elegant looking manicure? I really like how this set of nail art turned out!

For the base, I used a black polish and a rose gold glitter on the index finger.

Then I lined some jewels that is similar to the rose gold shade along the cuticles of the 3rd and 4th fingers and that's it! Elegant and cool looking right?

Black - Julep - Johnny
Glitter - Butter London - Rosie Lee

Ipsy May 2017 Unboxing and First Impression

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that comes with a new makeup bag and 5 beauty sample products for the price of $10 USD/month.

Click HERE to join Ipsy!

This month's bag comes in a cute clear plastic with ice-cream and popsicles! Very fun and summery!

What I got this month:

Pacifica - Island Life Eyeshadow Palette - 3.6 g
I am most excited about this product when I first opened the bag. I love any natural organic makeup and I know Pacifica has some great but un-spoken makeup items. This is a good sized eyeshadow palette with 5 shades. They are surprisingly creamy to the touch and very pigmented! The shades are all very wearable too! Like!

PEEK Beauty - Metalimatte in A-Boo - 1.5 g
This is a gorgeous cream blush in a cute sliding tin. The color is a coral pink, or pinky peach which is flattering on lots of skin tone. There is a golden sheen finish as well. It is easy to blend and is supposed to be a cream to powder formula. I quite like this shade and finish!

Pixi by Petra - Endless Silky Eye Pen in Opal Overcoat - 0.8 g
I do not own too many products from Pixi and I am always glad to receive them from Ipsy. I got a golden champagne colour eyeliner which I am happy with because I have too many black eyeliners! I was shocked when I swatched this because it applied super easily. It is very soft and glides on the skin so well! Impressed!

Manna Kadar - Bronzer and Highlighter Duo - 3 g
First of all, who can fit their bronzer brush in this TINY pan? This is more of an eyeshadow sized product. I would appreciate it if the entire pan is either bronzer or highlighter. I know lots of people would complain about the size of this split pan. Anyway, both products are nice. The highlighter is not too glittery and has a nice reflective sheen. The bronzer is definietly shimmery and is quite warm.

Mellow Cosmetics - Creamy Matte Lipstick in Posh - 3.8 g
As the product name suggested, this is truly a creamy matte lipstick. It is very comfortable to wear and it applies easily. The shade I got looks mauve on the hand but it is quite nude on my lips that it looks like I applied some concealer over my lips! It is still nice to try out a new brand though.

Clouds on Ombre Blue

How about a blue sky kind of manicure to welcome the spring and summer weather?

The base polish was a really light blue shade by Julep.

Then I used the same polish, plus 2 more other shades of blue to do the ombre/gradient effect. As usual, I put some tape around the nails to protect the skin so I have minimal clean up to do. Then I just used a cosmetic sponge for the gradient sponging.

I then used a medium sized dotting tool to paint on the clouds and this does not have to be neat at all! Apply top coat to seal everything and we are done!

Products used:
White - OPI
Light Blue - Julep
Medium Blue - Spa Ritual
Royal Blue - Kiko
Cosmetic Sponge, Dotting Tool

Beauty Tips That Inspire True Confidence

Disclaimer: This is a contributed post and there are affiliate links.

Confidence is something that everyone wants, but not many people actually have. If you’re not confident in yourself, it’s probably linked to how you view your own appearance. There are some top beauty tips that you can make the most of if you want to start to feel more confident. Some of them are simple and straightforward, and others are more long-term. But they will all help you to feel better about yourself and the way you look.

Eliminate the Dark Circles Around Your Eyes

Are you worried about how your eyes look because of the dark circles that seem to be endlessly surrounding them? Don’t worry; you’re not alone. This is a pretty common problem that lots of people face. There are ways in which you can battle against this, though. By using a brightener that’s colour-correcting, you can mask the problem and make your eyes look fresh and bright. You should also make sure that you get enough sleep and take good general care of your skin because these things can make a difference too.

Use Cold Water to Reduce Hair Frizz

This is a great trick that not many people know anything about. When you get to the end of your shower, you should turn the hot water off and turn up the cold water. This helps to flatten out your hair and stop the problem for frizz later on. When your hair dries, it will be much smoother and better looking. So, if you have a problem with hair frizz, this is definitely a tip that you should take advantage of. It could stop you from experiencing lots of those bad hair days in the future, as long as you can handle taking a cold shower that is.

Improve Your Overall Approach to Your Health

Sometimes, improving your overall health is the very best thing you can do to improve your appearance and confidence. When you eat healthily, stay hydrated and get more exercise, your skin will improve in appearance and your hair will be stronger too. You should talk to your doctor about the lifestyle changes you make. Some people even opt for getting help from plastic surgeons too. There are some operations that can help you improve your health and your self confidence at the same time. These are all ideas worth considering if you want to feel a little better about yourself.

Whiten Your Stained Teeth

Teeth whitening has never been easier. You no longer have to spend a lot of money on dental procedures, although this route is probably still the most effective. There are products that you can buy over the counter that help with teeth whitening. Many people are very self-conscious about their stained teeth, and it’s something that can really affect a person’s confidence. If that’s something that sounds familiar to you, you should try out some whitening products and see if they can make a difference. There is no reason to carry on hating the way your teeth look.

Pastel Sponging on Grey

I have been loving doing these sponge-on nails and I am experimenting with different colour combinations. They are super easy to do yet can look quite impressive! This set of pastel colours manicure is perfect of spring time!

For the base, I used a light grey polish. This is the Jelly Look polish by Flormar which is an European brand. The shade is called Light Grey.

For the first layer of sponging, I used a pastel coral color. I just randomly sponged the polish on with a ripped cosmetic sponge.

Then I repeated the sponging with a mint and a pastel yellow polish.

I like to rip out a small piece of sponge and use a pair of tweezers to hold on for the sponging so I am not wasting a large piece!

After applying top coat and we are done! Cute right?

Products used:
Coral - Kiko - 282
Grey - Flormar - Light Grey
Mint - Julep
Yellow - CND - Sun Bleached #165
Cosmetic Sponge

Tips And Tricks To Help You With Your Makeup

Disclaimer: This is a contributed post and contains affiliate links.

It’s not easy creating a flawless look when it comes to makeup. However many of us will admit to not leaving the house without something on our faces, be that a full face of foundation or just a simple application of lipstick. As it can be such a big part of our lives, I thought I would share with you some of the tips and tricks that could help you with your makeup. From application to where you apply it this guide will help you cover all angles.

Give your makeup a good sort through

We can all become a little obsessed with purchasing the latest foundation, the concealer that promises good coverage or the mascara that insists will create voluminous lashes. But because we have the need to try new things all the time, we can end up with a vast collection of makeup and forget what we have. So it would be a great opportunity to give your makeup a sort through and decide what to keep and what to discard. However, if any of the products are new and not been used, then you may want to consider selling them on websites like eBay. Some women are always looking for a bargain, and it may help build up some extra income that you can invest in more makeup and tools.

Invest in the right tools for the job

We may think that using particular brushes for makeup is a waste of time, but some of the tools and applicators can help create a better finish. Makeup artists will always insist that using brushes help create a more flawless finish, whether this is with your foundation or when adding eyeshadow to your lids. If you are unsure on what tools stick with some basic options like a foundation application brush and one for contouring. You may also want a brush to help blend in your foundation and powders.

Mediocre products might give mediocre results

It’s worth pointing out that spending less money on products and buying lots of them could be worse than investing in key products and spending a little more. This is because higher end makeup will have more added to them, such as higher pigments in foundations, for example. All of which could give you better results during the application process, and could easily last longer than some of the cheaper products out there. If in doubt, speak to some experts on makeup counters and once you find the products that work for you and your skin tone, don't deviate.

The secret to applying eye liner and getting the perfect winged flick

Does anyone else struggle with the application of eyeliner? It’s perhaps seen as one of the hardest techniques to master, especially if you want to create the winged effect. But the truth is, you could be applying it wrong and not even know it. Application of eyeliner should start at the corner of your eye and finish half way. Then go to the opposite side and meet in the middle. This is because applying in one motion means your eyeliner can look bumpy and uneven due to the looser skin on your eyelids. The winged effect should start from the bottom eye line, and not the top. This is because you have a natural curve to your eye line that is much easier to follow from the bottom.

Make your base appear flawless and last the duration

It’s important that your base foundation looks flawless and last the day in some cases. So a makeup setting powder could be the answer to all your prayers. If you are unsure how to use them, or want to learn different techniques, then your best bet is to follow tutorials online. Practice will definitely help, and if you find yourself being a more visual person, then you may want to consider watching YouTube videos.

Consider where you apply your makeup

Finally, it is well worth thinking about where you apply your makeup. Try and ensure you have access to as much natural light as possible. If you can, apply your makeup directly in front of a window with the light in the center. This will help avoid shadows on your face and also give you the best possible scenario to creating a flawless finish. If you can't apply your makeup in front of a window consider getting yourself a mirror with a built-in LED light to help you ensure your application is right.

I hope these tips and tricks help you with your makeup!

I know these Ultra Matte Lip liquid lipsticks are one of the star products from the brand. I am so glad Glossybox includes 2 colours of these! I got a nude peach and a brownish mauve. This mascara claims to give "outrageous volume and length". I think that is what most people want from a mascara so I am excited to see if this really gives what it says! I like the bristle brush. This also claims to be flake and smudge proof. Can't wait to try!

Gilchrist & Soames - Beekind Shower Gel & Body Lotion - 30 ml each

Jafra Cosmetics - Paris et Moi Eau de Parfum - 7 ml
This is a sweet and musky scent with notes of strawberries, rose petal macaron, and silky wood. I have never heard of this brand. This scent seems to be a night time sexy one. I don't mind it!

This set is a mystery bonus product that you are supposed to try it first then find out what brand is it! How fun is that? They have a fresh floral scent and I like how generous the size is! I think I will enjoy them!
