Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription with 5 luxury products which costs $21 USD per month. There is also a little discount if you subscribe to a longer period of time.

What I got this month:

Too Faced - Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua - 5 ml
I am most excited about this product in this month's box because these melted lipsticks are very popular and it is a nice surprise to get one from a subscription box! I already own a couple other Melted Lipstick and I quite like them! This one is a brownish nude. As with other Melted Lipsticks, it has a sweet cake scent and a glossy finish. It wears comfortably on the lips.

Luxie Beauty - Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush 504
I have a couple eye brushes from this brand before from other subscription boxes and they are very good in quality being nice and soft! This one is not that large as the name suggested, I think it is an average sized contour brush but it is perfect for my liking! I am really happy that I got this!

Eyeko - Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner - 1.2 g
I am not too happy to see the mini size of this liquid liner since Glossybox is a more luxury (pricey) subscription and most of the time these eyeliners come in full size in my other boxes! Oh well. This is a felt tip liner and it looks like it wears quite well on my hand with a hard time smudging it off!

I Love... Cosmetics - Super Soft Hand Lotion in Coconut and Cream - 75 ml
This is liquid hand lotion which is quite runny. I usually like the more thick cream to use on my hands. The scent is not the typical coconut scent, it is more of an artificial coconut scent from some sun screen. I am not too fond of the scent. It is a light lotion that is good for the warmer season or maybe as a body lotion.

Vine Vera - Resveratrol Merlot Moisture Day Cream
This cream came in 2 small pots with unknown volume. I think the total might be around 15 ml. These sample pots look underwhelming and I am least excited about them from this month's box. However, on the brochure it looks like it is an quite expensive cream with price of the full size is $146 USD. It says it is an anti-aging cream that protect and hydrates with resveratrol which is found in the skins of grapes and red wine packed with antioxidants.

Pink & Gold Christmas Tree Nails

Here's a Christmas Tree manicure with a twist! I was planning to have something other than the traditional Christmas colors. Let's start!

The base polishes were gorgeous soft colors using a baby nude pink by Deborah Lippmann and a textured gold glitter by L'oreal.

For the tree, I used silver and gold glitter polka dots in different sizes. I just kept dotting until the shape of the tree is formed.

Then I topped it off with a star shaped jewel (it was actually a flower shape!) and we are done! Cute right?

Products Used:
Baby Pink - Deborah Lippmann
Gold Textured Polish - L'oreal
Silver Glitter - Spa Ritual
Gold Glitter - Julep
Dotting Tool, Pink Floral Jewels

Christmas Lights Nails

Let's do really simple Christmas Lights mani!

The base colors were white and dark green polishes.

On the white nails, I used my black nail striper to draw diagonal lines across the nail.

Then I put dots of red and green polishes along the black lines resembling the light bulbs!

I finished it off with some gold glitter on the other dark green nails and we are done! Easy right?

Products Used:
Dark Green, Red, Gold Glitter - Julep
Green - Zoya
White - OPI
Black Striper - Color Club

Ipsy March 2016 Unboxing & First Impression

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that comes with a new makeup bag and 5 beauty sample products for the price of $10 USD/month.

Click HERE to join Ipsy!

This month's makeup bag comes in an orange with mint green roses print which is very spring appropriate!

What I got this month:

Pixie by Petra - Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold - 4.5 g
I was excited to see a Pixie product in this month's bag because I have heard they are great in quality! I swatched the highlighter first because I am addicted to highligthers and it is amazing! It is a gorgeous yellowish champagne highlighter with no glitter. The blush is a nice baby pink with a sheen. The texture is so smooth and creamy! Love!

NYX - Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Pink Lust - 4 ml
HOLY neon shocking pink! The color I got is very bright and I am not sure if I can pull it off! Haha. I think this is the point of subscription box right? This cream lipstick will dry down matte but it is still transferable and it feels a bit sticky after. But it is not drying on the lips and the formula is quite nice. I will try to wear is sometime in the summer!

Skone Cosmetics - Insanely Intense Tattooed Eyeliner in Jet Black - 2 ml
This is a felt tip liquid liner which seems quite intense in color! It is quite hard to rub off or remove on my hand so I think it will be quite nice on the eyes! A girl can always have more black eyeliners right?

Marc Anthony - Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream - 50 ml
"Hold hair straight, frizz-free and shiny for up to 3 days". Sounds too good to be true? Let's see how this blow dry cream perform. However, I try not to blow dry my hair too much now since I want minimum heat on my damaged hair.

NoTS - 28 Remedy Balancing Toner - 10 ml
"MFDS aproved for whitening, anti-wrinkle functions. Anti acne". I have never heard of this brand before and it is from Korea. It seems nice to get a toner for skincare since I don't really get these too often from subscription boxes. It will be hard to tell how this will perform since it is so small. But I am still happy to get this to try!

Snowman Nails

Do you want to build a snowman!? This set of snowman nailart makes me want to sing that song every time I look at it! Haha.

For the base, I applied solid colors of this blue-ish purple and a white polish on the accent nail.

On the middle finger, I sponged on the gradient/ombre color of white and blue for the snow on the ground effect. Then I put some polka dots in different sizes for the falling snow. On the 4th finger, I dotted the snowman's face and put on a orange pointy nose.

I also added some glitter on the ombre nail. After applying a top coat and we are done!

Products Used:
Blue - Julep
White & Glitter - Revlon
Black - Sasatinnie
Orange - Urban Decay

Nail Tattoo on Red and Gold

This was my first time trying these metallic nail tattoo and I have to say they are super fun and easy to use!

I got this tattoo sheet from one of my Julep boxes and it has silver and gold patterns. Click HERE to join Julep!

For the base colors, I used a red and a gold on the accent nail.

Then I cut out the chevron pattern tattoo in gold and put it on the middle finger. I just dabbed some tab water on the tattoo sheet and let it soak for a little. The white paper then just came off and we have the gold chevron on the nail!

It was super easy to do and I will definitely use more of these for nailart!

Products Used:
Red - Julep
Gold - Deborah Lippmann

Blue and Silver Color Blocking

Let's do a simply triangular color blocking with some jewels!

The base colors were these gorgeous polishes by Mineral Fusion and Julep. I pick silver and dark blue so there was more contrast in the colors.

Then I used the nailart tape to make a cross on the silver nails once they were completely dry.

I simply painted the dark blue at the triangle quadrant of the nails. Using an opaque color can speed up this process. Once the color is on, I peeled off the tape without waiting the polish to dry.

Then I finished the manicure off with some nail jewels to add on some bling bling!

Products Used:
Silver - Mineral Fusion
Blue - Julep
Jewels - Sally Hansen

Feb 2016 Empties and Reviews

There are lots of empty products this month, let's begin with the mini review!

Julep - Bare Face Cleansing Oil
This cleansing oil was ok. It was a bit dry and thick that it wouldn't rub well unless I used more. But it took the makeup off nicely.

Clinique - Liquid Face Soap Mild
I liked this face wash for a simple clean that was not stripping or drying after. I used this in the morning since you don't really need a deep cleanse at that time.

Clinique - Even Better Dark Spot Corrector Serum
This serum was ok. I did not see a dramatic difference with the spots tho. I don't think I would re-purchase this.

Tarte - Maracuja Oil
This had to be my 10th bottle of maracuja oil and I already 2 back ups. Enough said!

Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Serum
This was a nice serum that applied smoothly. I only had the small sample bottle so I did not have enough to see a big difference.

Kiehl's - Hydro-Plumping Serum
I liked this moisturizing serum. It was quite light weight and it absorbed into the skin very quickly!

Elizabeth Arden - Superstar Serum
Lise Watier - Instant Lifting Day Serum
These 2 were ok. They were quite light weight and easy to apply.

First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream
I really liked this cream. I tried using this on both my face and on my hands. Very moisturizing!

EOS - Lip Balm in Honeydew
This lip balm was very nice and hydrating! I love EOS lip balms!

Revlon - Transforming Effect Polish - Matte Pearl Glaze
This dried out on me so quickly! Maybe I didn't tighten the lid enough. This was a gorgeous matte pearl finish that can transform the nail color into a more pearly purple. I loved it.

Benefit - Roller Lash Mascara
This mascara was supposed to give you curly lashes. I think the effect was too little and it was more a gimmick thing. I think curling the lashes in a conventional way is way better than the effect from this.

Mally - Volumizing Mascara
I loved this mascara! This gave me so much volume fast and it wore so nicely without smudging. It's ashamed that this does not get enough attention in the beauty community.

L'occitane - Shea Foot Cream
I used this as a hand cream and carried it in my purse. I enjoyed this cream just as other L'occitane shea hand cream. It had a spa scent which I liked!

ELF - Lip Balms
I am tossing these out because they are really old and I never used them. The square pot ones smells funny like some kind of plastic, which I did not enjoy. The round ones are ok, they are like a shiny lip color.

Purple and Silver Dotticure

Here's a simple polka dots manicure when you have limited tools polishes. The key is to find polishes that go together!

The base colors are metallic purple and silver by Formula X. I applied 2 coats of both for this look.

Then I used my dotting tool with a big head and a tiny head for the polka dots. I put the dots close to one side of the nail to make it more artistic. I also added some pink glitter for the dots to make it a little extra cute. Easy!

Products Used:
All polishes - Sephora Formula X
