Red and Gold Flowers

0

This flower and tree nailart looks impressive but it was actually very easy to do with dots and squiggly lines!

For the base, I used a nice solid red and a gold polish on the 4th finger.

On the red nails, I dotted the flower petals with the same gold polish. Each flower has 5 dots for the petals.

On the gold nail, I used a black nail striper and drew the tree and branches. This does not have to be neat at all!

On the tree, I added some red and white tiny dots for the flowers and I also added the center of the other gold flowers with some white dots. We are done, I told you it was easy!

Pink Heart Dotticure

0

Another romantic pink dotticure that will sure impress!

For the base, I used a fuchsia pink and a white on the thumb and middle finger.

Then I took the same pink polish and dotted the outline of the heart on the middle finger.

I used a lighter pink shade to dot the middle layer inside the heart.

And then I used another even lighter pink polish to dot the most inner part of the heart, making an ombre effect.

On the thumb I only dotted the outline of the heart and left it like that. Quick, easy and cute right?

Ipsy July 2016 Unboxing and First Impression

0

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that comes with a new makeup bag and 5 beauty sample products for the price of $10 USD/month.

Click HERE to join Ipsy!

This month's makeup bag comes in a silver holographic color with beach umbrellas on the front. I love holos and this is so cute!

What I got this month:

Too Faced - Hangover Replenishing Face Primer - 5 ml

Believe it or not, I have never tried this primer before even though I have heard so much good things about it! I am most excited for this product in this month's bag. It feels light on the back of my hand and it has a coconut scent which is delightful! I am intrigued to see if this primer is really hydrating and provides the full night's rest look that it claims!

BellaPierre Cosmetics - Banana Setting Powder - 4 g

This is a yellow toned loose powder which comes in a generous size. The powder feels really soft and I like the simple list of ingredients. I will sure put this to use!

theBalm Cosmetics - Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matte Kumar - 0.5 g

I like theBalm as a brand because they make great powder products. I got the matte cranberry color and the texture seems quite soft which should be blendable. It will be a nice crease color if I sheer it out or it can also be a smoky eye color!

Embryolisse - Lait-Creme Concentre - 7.5 ml

You know it's fancy when there is a paper slip inside the box! Haha. This is a multi-function cream that claims to be "an all-in-one 24H moisturizer, primer and makeup remover". What? And makeup remover too? Now this is new. Interesting claims that this can work as both primer and makeup remover. I know french skincare is very good and this brand existed since 1950! I will probably use this as a moisturizer/primer since this looks like an pricey product.

Vasanti Cosmetics - Contour Eyeshadow Brush
I didn't know Vasanti makes makeup brushes! I can always have another crease brush. The hair of this brush seems a little long and it bends more when you blend. The packaging and mailing kind of deformed the brush, I hope it will straighten back after I washed it. I will use this for sure!

Points Item:
Juice Beauty - Sheer Lip Gloss in 05 Bikini - 2.2 ml
I redeemed some points for this lip gloss since I am into organic/natural makeup ingredients lately. This is a nude mauve sheer lip gloss with a little sparkles. On the lips this is VERY SHEER that I can't even see that I am wearing anything. It is quite watery too and it slipped outside my lip line when I was applying it. The biggest problem is the smell! It smells like pencils... wooden pencils! I am not very happy with this lip gloss.

Purple Heart Shaped Leopard

0

A leopard print with a twist? These turned out cuter than I have planned!

For the base, I used a white and a holographic purple and painted 2 coats of each to get the solid color.

For the heart shaped leopard print, I used the opposite colors to paint hearts on messily. This does not have to be neat at all! Then I outlined the hearts with a black nail striper and added a few random outlines in between. Again, messily and randomly! Trust me, give it a try, it is super simple!

Glossybox June 2016 Unboxing & First Impression

0

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription with 5 luxury products which costs $21 USD per month. There is also a little discount if you subscribe to a longer period of time.

This month's box is a special design  which says Tony Awards. My first thought was "Who is Tony??" Haha.

What I got this month:

Sebastian Professional - Hair Spray 43 g, Hair Oil 2 ml
I was most excited to see this product in this month's box since Sebastian hair spray is my all time favorite hair spray that I can trust for long wear and humidity resistance. I have tried both their white and black bottles and I am glad to have this travel size now. I am not too excited about the hair oil though because I think all hair oils works similarly but it was nice that they threw this one in along with the hair spray.

Caolion - Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo - 7 g Each
This is an interesting Korean mask duo in adorable packaging! Step 1 is a hot pore cleansing and detoxifying mask, and Step 2 is a cooling and tightening mask. I am very excited to try this because I can use a good detox and pore refining treatment all the time! I think this duo pack only contains enough product for one time use which I am not a fan since Glossy Box is a more pricey subscription box and I expect bigger sizes products from them.

Icona Milano - Emotion Allowed Mascara - 10 ml
I like the name of this mascara! "Emotion Allowed" to me means tear/water proof, smart! The brush is very slim with short bristles and looks like it will have an easy application. Made in Italy too!

LA Splash - Lip Lacquer High Pigment Collection in Sugar Rush - 6 ml
This is a super pigmented lip lacquer with shiny finish in a terra cotta color. I think this color will be flattering on most skin tones. Let's see how good it wears since I am always nervous with high pimented glossy finish lip products.

Sinful Colors - Kylie Jenner Satin Collection in Kosmos - 15 ml
So Kylie Jenner's name is now on almost all kinds of products? I am not too happy to see this brand since I know Sinful Colors polishes are only $2-3 and I expect more high end product from this subscription box. But I like the color I got which is a royal blue with a matte finish.

Tan Towel - Self-Tan Towelette - 2 Individual Towelettes - 7.5 ml Each
These self-tan towelettes claim to exfoliate, tan, and moisturize and you can use them on the face or body. I don't really use self-tan lately so I am not too excited to get this set but I think these towelette are a convenient and easy way for a self-tan.

Overall
This box is a special "Tony Awards" edition and we got 6 items instead of the usual 5. However, I think the value is not there and the products are less exciting and more drugstore level. I still don't know who this Tony is and I don't really like his picks! Glossybox usually does more higher end brands since it is a pricier beauty subscription so overall I am not impressed this month.

Galaxy Nails

0

This was my first time doing galaxy nails and it was easier and quicker than I have imagined!

For the base, I used a black (or almost black) color by Julep and waited for it to completely dry.

Then I ripped a few pieces of the cosmetic sponge to prepare for the color sponging.

For the galaxy colors, I picked mostly metallic polishes in the blue/green/purple color range.

I painted the polish directly onto the ripped sponge and randomly dabbed the color onto the nails. Then I simply repeated with the other colors. I didn't even wait long for the previous color to dry before moving onto the next one!

Once I got the galaxy look I liked, I painted a holographic top coat over the nail. After applying top coat and we are done! Cool right?

Products Used:
Black, Blue, Purple, Teal - Julep
Holo Top Coat - Relvon

CND Rescue Kit Unboxing and First Impression

0

Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.

I recently received a Rescue Kit from CND with a bunch of nail care products which I am super excited to share! It came in a luxury black box with imprints of brands under the Revlon Group.

What I got in the #CNDRescueKit:

RescueRX - Nail Treatment
This is a nail treatment that you apply on bare nails which contains keratin protein and jojoba oil which can improve peeling, splitting, and white spots. Oh yea! That is what I need! I always get peeling at the edge of my nails and I will be using this every time I have bare nails and I will also be using it around and UNDER the nails (don't forget that part!). I love nail treatments and can't wait to see the healthier results! This product is like a serum and it is not oily at all. I like to apply a thick layer and wait for the nail to soak on it a bit then I massage the nail and cuticle to make sure the it is all absorbed.

SolarOil - Cuticle Oil
I have used this product before as a cuticle oil and I enjoyed it. It absorbs quite quickly and doesn't leave greasy finger prints all over the place. It has a hint of sweet almond scent but it is not strong.

Cuticle Eraser - AHA Cuticle Treatment
An interesting nail and cuticle product with AHA (alpha-hydroxy acids)! I have only seen AHA in skincare and never in a nail product! This is a cuticle cream that does chemical exfoliating as well as moisturizing and preventing hangnails.

ScrubFresh - Nail Cleanser
One of my tricks to have a longer polish lasting power is to clean the nail bed with nail polish remover right before applying any polishes. Now there is a cleanser just for that purpose! Excited to try!

File/Buffer
Another one of my tricks: I like using a buffer to buff the tip of the nails lightly (a couple of strokes) before a manicure to extend the life of the polish or to buff down any peeling.

VINYLUX Weekly Top Coat + VINYLUX Weekly Polishes
I also got the top coat and 4 colorful polishes from their VINYLUX line. Yay for 7 free polishes! I only use non-toxic polishes now and I am glad to hear that this line is 7 free. I have swatched a couple of the colors below!
