Red and Textured Black Dotticure with Heart

0

Here's an adorable red and polka dots manicure that is super easy to do! Let's start!

For the base colors, I used a deep red polish, a cream on the 4th finger, and a textured glitter black on the middle finger.

On the 2nd and 4th finger nails, I painted some black polka dots on with a toothpick. I find the toothpick gives me the smallest dots.

On the 4th nail, I painted on a heart shape. I first dotted the arch and corner points so I have a guide when I draw the rest. Then I used a tiny detailing brush and completed the rest of the heart shape.

After applying top coat and we are done! I never apply a top coat on any textured nail polish since that would cover the texture. So I skipped top coat on the middle finger nail.

Mascara Wand Dragging Technique

0

Here I am playing with some feathery effects using a mascara wand. They look a bit messy up close but I still think they are pretty cool!

For the base color, I used a nude polish by Deborah Lippmann. This light color would give me a better contrast for the dragging part.

Then I took a dark pink (almost purple) polish and painted thick layer stripes on the nail. I worked on one nail at a time for this because I needed the polish to be wet still. Then I took a dry and clean mascara wand and lightly drag the edges of the purple polish to the side. It was very easy and fun to do!

Purple - Butter London

Mickey Mouse Print and Textured Gold

0

Everyone loves Mickey Mouse right? Here's a simple Mickey Mouse monogram dotticure that will sure impress!

The textured gold on my thumb and 4th finger nails was by L'oreal and I love this line of textured polishes. There are a few other duo chromes in this line and I love them all!

To make the Mickey Mouse Print, I painted big dots using a black polish on the middle finger with a nude beige base. Then I dotted the ears with a smaller dotting tool with the same color. Simple right?

Polishes Used:
Red - Zoya
Textured Gold - L'oreal
Nude - Deborah Lippmann
Black - Julep

Ipsy June 2016 Unboxing and First Impression

0

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that comes with a new makeup bag and 5 beauty sample products for the price of $10 USD/month.

Click HERE to join Ipsy!

This month's makeup bag has a colorful graffiti print which is very fun and edgy! I love this colorful design!

What I got this month:

Urban Decay - Eyeshadow in Lounge - 0.85 g
I was quite impressed to see Urban Decay in this month's bag because this is a more high end brand that I don't usually see in subscription boxes. This is a very interesting duo-chrome eyeshadow that will reflect a deep teal and a warm brown in different direction. Can't wait to do an eye look with this!

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics - Pout Potion in Secret - 7.8 g
This is a romantic nude pink colored lip gloss that feels quite nice on the lips. It has a slight vanilla/chocolate scent when you first apply it but it doesn't linger.

Formula X - Nail Polish in Wingwoman - 4 ml
Yay for nail polish! This is a red polish with a hint of pink. I already love Formula X's polishes and I will sure love this one too!

Crown Brush - 3 Tone Bronzer - 4 g
It's a good idea to provide samples for all 3 shades: highlighter, blush, bronzer. However, the pan is way too small that I am not sure how can I use this on my face with the size of the face brush I normal use for these products. The colors are quite nice that they are smooth and doesn't contain chunky shimmers.

BioRepublic SkinCare - Fiber Mask Set - 2 masks
I love any face masks and I will sure put these to good use. I think I have tried these before from a previous subscription box. I remember enjoying these fiber masks. They are made in Korean where cosmetics are known to be innovative and trendy!

Purple Fireworks and Plastic Bag Marble

0

I am in love this this purple holographic polish by Julep! The name of the polish is Delores. Click HERE for a video to see how holo this looks!

On the 2nd and 3rd finger nails, I used a grey color by Butter London as the base.

I used 3 colors (black, purple and grey mentioned above) to make drops on the nail and quickly put a piece of plastic on top and pressed on it gently while everything was still wet. You can repeat this step if you didn't get the marble swirl effect you wanted.

On the 4th nail, I used my white nail striper to draw the fireworks. Then I repeated with 2 other shades of purple. I made these lines randomly and it is OK to make it a little messy!

Products Used:

Grey - Butter London

Champagne Popping Nails

0

This celebration themed manicure is great for all occasions and I did them for the New Years!

For the base, I used a light cream nude color and a rose gold color. You can use any lighter color polishes you like!

I used a gold polish to draw the champagne bottle on the 2nd and 3rd nails. I also added some gold for the champagne shooting out from the bottle through the 4th finger.

I added more splashes with a silver polish and also painted the white label on the bottle body.

Then I simply outlined the bottle using a black polish and we are done!

Polishes Used:
Nude - Deborah Lippmann
Gold - Sally Hansen
Rose Gold & White - Julep
Silver - Mineral Fusion, Gosh

Glossybox May 2016 Unboxing & First Impression

0

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription with 5 luxury products which costs $21 USD per month. There is also a little discount if you subscribe to a longer period of time.

What I got this month:

Rituals Cosmetics - Shower Foam in Zensation - 50 ml
I have never tried a shower gel that sprays out in a foam form. It first comes out in clear gel but it turns into foam right away! The scent is so fresh and natural too which I love. I can't wait to try this out!

Adore Cosmetics - Cellmax Elite Facial Serum - 0.5 Fl. Oz.
$750 USD for this full size serum??!! Holy!! The full size is 1.7 Fl. oz. and I got a 0.5 Fl. oz. from this box so that means this item is about $220 USD? WTF? I have never heard of such pricey face serum. This is a clear gel textured anti-aging serum which claims to rejuvenate and restore environmental damage. Let's see what magic does it do!

Benefit - Roller Lash Mascara
I have received this item multiple times from subscription boxes already. I thought this would be an older products to all of us now? This is a good mascara but I think the curling function is a bit gimmicky. You are supposed to comb and rotate the brush so the hooks on the brush can help curl the lashes.

Talika - Photo-Hydra Day - 30 ml
This is a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid (which I love seeing in hydrating products!). It claims to give the skin a summer glow by recreating the effects of natural light on the skin. Sounds good to me!

Nioxin - Shampoo and Conditioner - 50 ml Each
I am glad to see the pair of shampoo and conditioner together and they are counted as a single item out of the 5 from the box. This system claims to therapeutically cleanse and balance moisture levels to thicken hair. I have heard of this salon brand before and I am looking forward to trying them!

Purple Dry Brush and Textured Nails

0

Here's a super easy purple and black dry brushing manicure with textured metallic purple glitter!

The textured polish was by Julep from their Stardust Finish line. I love textured polish and this purple color is just so gorgeous!! I applied 2 coats to get this look.

On the other finger nails, I used an almost black polish and did 2 different colors of dry brushing. I first used a silver polish then a metallic purple which was similar to the textured purple color. I made brush strokes in both vertical and horizontal directions.

After applying top coat over the dry brushing then we are done! I never apply top coat on textured polishes because that would take away the texture effect.

May 2016 Empties and Reviews

0

This month I have mostly skin care and only a few makeup items. Let's start!

Pure Brazilian - Leave In Conditioner
I got this from a beauty subscription box and I have enjoyed it. It came in a spray bottle but I didn't spray it directly onto my hair. I sprayed the milky gel onto my palm and rubbed my hands together then applied at the lower half of my hair. It has a slight fragrance and I smoothed out my damped hair before blow drying. I like this!

Clinique - Smart Custom Repair Serum
This serum was supposed to be an all-in-one serum which will repair any skin concerns you have. It was a gel textured serum and it was easy to spread out. However, I didn't see a big difference after using the entire bottle. I don't think I will repurchase this again.

MAC - Fix Plus in Yuzu
This was a limited edition Fix Plus that came out last year and I love the light citrus scent! I used this as a refresher throughout the day and I am sad to finish this limited edition product!

Origins - Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask
This was a black face mask that claims to clear pore and impurities. I like how it tightened the skin up! This did not really "suck out oil" like the Glawglow one did tho (read next item).

Glamglow - Supermud Clearing Treatment
This masks is very popular in the beauty world for its dirt sucking ability. If you leave the mask on after it dries up, it will continue to work and you will start to see spots of oil being suck out from your pores (sorry, too descriptive!). I like how I can see it's working and your skin really feels clean and smooth after! Love!

The Body Shop - Tea Tree Mask
This mask is nice to control acne and it has a strong tea tree scent. It is very green so it can be fun as well! I always have one in the cabinet for emergency!

Dr. Hauschka - Normalizing Day Oil
This oil was nice and easy to absorb. I used a few drops to mix with my normal moisturizer in the mornings. I like this organic brand since I heard good reviews for them. I would love to try more of their products!

Derma E - Refining Vitamin A Oil
This face oil was a bit thick and heard to spread on the skin. I used this occasionally in the night time and it was quite greasy. I don't think I would repurchase.

ELF - Lip Exfoliator
I went through multiple tubes of this lip scrub. I love that it is a scrub in a lipstick form so it is very convenient without needing to use your fingers. It is basically a sugar scrub in a lip balm form. Bonus point for its affordability too! I have already bought another one!

So Susan - Face Luminizer
This was a liquid highlighter which reminds me of the color Opal by Becca. It was a pinkish champagne highlighter and I really enjoyed it! I used this to mix in with my foundation to have glowy looking skin.
